- Chinese sellers are under 10% of noon's sellers, so a good listing can still win search without hundreds of reviews.
- Win with mid-priced, durable, certified products. Don't fight Temu and SHEIN on cheap fashion and generic goods.
- Test with noon Global Shipping (no stock risk), then scale winners with FBN for the noon Express badge and a lower shopper price.
- In our worked example, one night light earns about SAR 19 per unit on FBN in Saudi Arabia, after fees, freight, duty and ads.
- Ramadan 2027 starts around 8 February. Sea freight takes 5–7 weeks from booking to FBN check-in, so book stock by early December.
noon is the Gulf's home-grown marketplace, and it's actively recruiting Chinese sellers.
Fewer than one in ten of its sellers is Chinese. That's a very different picture from Amazon, where you compete with thousands of Shenzhen brands for every keyword.
The playbook that works is simple: test cheaply from China, then put your winners in a Gulf warehouse and scale them.
Below you'll find which categories win, how to price against Temu and SHEIN, a worked profit example, and a staged plan with real numbers.
Why noon is the Gulf's best opening for Chinese sellers
noon was founded in 2017 and is backed by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund (PIF) and Emaar. It's the home team in the Gulf's two biggest ecommerce markets, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
For a Chinese seller, four things stand out:
- Premium prices. The Gulf imports most of its daily consumer goods, so shoppers pay for availability and quality. An Arabic-menu air fryer that costs CNY 150 ex-factory sells for SAR 499.
- Fair traffic for new listings. noon hides sales counts and doesn't make reviews the main gate for traffic. A strong new listing can rank in weeks.
- A model built for China. noon Global Shipping (NGS) lets a China-registered company sell with no Gulf company or Gulf VAT.
- Active recruitment. noon has a China headquarters in Zhejiang and ran its first official China seller summits in 2026.
Here's why now matters. Yellow Friday is weeks away, and Ramadan 2027 starts in early February. Sellers who find their winners this winter go into next year's peaks with stock already in place.
How crowded is noon for Chinese sellers?
Not very. Chinese sellers on noon number in the low thousands, according to Chinese seller-tool providers, against far deeper benches on Amazon.
The whole marketplace is smaller too. Amazon.ae has about 21,000 sellers (Helium 10), roughly four times noon's last public count.
What does that mean in practice?
- Cheaper clicks. Sellers report long-tail ad clicks around SAR 0.3–0.5 in Saudi home categories.
- Thin category pages. Search a niche you make well and you'll often find few close matches, many shipped slowly.
- Little price war. Without visible sales counts, sellers compete on listing quality, price and delivery speed rather than review volume.
The catch? Competition isn't equal everywhere.
Phones, chargers and fashion are crowded. Your edge is in the niches below.
Which categories win on noon
The best categories for Chinese sellers on noon combine Gulf-specific demand with products China makes well. cifnews' 2026 noon data points to four clusters:
- Heat-driven drinkware. Insulated tumblers, water dispensers, USB water pumps and coffee scales sell all year in the Gulf heat.
- Motion-sensor lighting. One night light sold 70,000 orders in 30 days across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
- Storage and home organisation. Big families and big homes mean steady demand for organisers, racks and kitchen storage.
- Natural, low-allergy beauty. It works if the pack carries an Arabic label, though cosmetics need extra approvals.
Amazon's own 2025 list for Chinese sellers adds furniture, smart home, gaming monitors and gaming chairs.
And what to avoid at the start:
- Apparel and footwear. noon takes 27% commission, and SHEIN and Trendyol own cheap fashion.
- Ultra-cheap commodities. Below about SAR 30, noon's commission and the SAR 9.50 FBN fee take more than half the price after VAT. Leave that tier to Temu.
- Food, supplements and cosmetics first. They need SFDA approvals, so test easier products while you prepare.

How to price against Temu and SHEIN
Temu and SHEIN get more Saudi traffic than noon. Don't let that scare you, because they're playing a different game.
Temu and SHEIN win on the cheapest fashion and general goods. In their managed models, the platform sets your price. noon shoppers search for a specific product and pay more for next-day delivery. That's the gap you sell into.
| noon (NGS or FBN) | Temu / SHEIN managed | |
|---|---|---|
| Who sets the shopper price | You (FBN) or your transfer price (NGS) | The platform |
| Your brand on the listing | Yes | Limited |
| Delivery promise | Next-day with noon Express (FBN) | Cross-border or local stock, platform-run |
| Where they win | Mid-priced branded and specific products | Cheapest fashion and general goods |
| Your control over ads | Full, through noon Ad Manager | Platform-run traffic |
| Best for | Brands and factories building a business | Suppliers who only want to ship volume |
So how should you price? Three rules work well:
- Sit in the middle of the noon range, not at the bottom. Check the top 10 results for your keyword and price near the median. Then win on photos, Arabic content and Express delivery.
- Bundle instead of cutting. A tumbler with two lids and a cleaning brush beats a cheaper tumbler alone.
- Price in VAT-inclusive SAR or AED. Gulf shoppers see the final price, so round to local price points like SAR 69 or AED 59.
The two models: test with NGS, scale with FBN
noon gives Chinese sellers two ways in. Use them in sequence, not as either/or.
- noon Global Shipping (NGS) is direct from China. You drop each order at noon's Shenzhen hub, and noon ships, clears and delivers it. You hold no Gulf stock, so it's the cheapest way to test.
- Fulfilled by noon (FBN) means you ship stock in bulk to noon's warehouses in Saudi Arabia or the UAE. You get the noon Express badge, next-day delivery and control over the shopper price.
When should a product move from NGS to FBN? A good rule of thumb: when it has sold every week for four weeks at a price you're happy with. That's real demand, not a lucky week.
The full NGS setup, documents and the transfer-price model are in our noon Global Shipping guide. For FBN against noon's other fulfilment options, see noon FBN vs FBP.
Worked example: one night light on FBN in Saudi Arabia
Say a motion-sensor night light has passed your NGS test. You ship 1,000 units to noon's Riyadh warehouse by sea and sell them at SAR 69.
| Per unit | SAR |
|---|---|
| Selling price (VAT included) | 69.00 |
| Less 15% VAT | −9.00 |
| noon referral fee (14%, home) | −9.66 |
| FBN outbound fee (0.25–0.5 kg) | −9.50 |
| Storage (about one month) | −0.25 |
| Product cost (USD 3.20) | −12.00 |
| Sea freight LCL to Dammam, 4 cbm with port and paperwork fees, ÷ 1,000 | −5.00 |
| Customs duty (5% of product plus ocean freight) | −0.76 |
| SABER shipment certificate (SAR 350 ÷ 1,000) | −0.35 |
| Ads | −3.00 |
| Profit per unit | 19.48 |
The freight line uses October 2026 LCL rates. Four cbm to Saudi Arabia costs about USD 1,330 all-in, or SAR 5 a unit.
That leaves about USD 5.20 per unit. noon also charges 15% VAT on its fees, which you reclaim once you're VAT-registered. On NGS, the same product earned USD 4.00 with no stock risk.
The bigger win is volume. With the Express badge and a lower shopper price, a proven product usually sells far more units per week than it did cross-border.

A staged plan: from first test to scale
Here's a plan you can start this week. Timings assume a China-registered company with products ready to list.
- 1
Weeks 1–2: choose 20–30 products and check compliance
Pick variations of products you already make well. Check each HS code for SABER or SFDA rules, and drop anything that needs long approvals.
- 2
Weeks 2–4: open NGS and list
Set up your UAE and Saudi stores through noon Global Shipping. Write Arabic and English titles, and price each product against the noon median.
- 3
Weeks 4–12: test and read the data
Run small product ads on long-tail keywords. Keep a weekly sheet of orders, returns and ad cost per product.
- 4
Month 3: pick 3–5 winners and certify them
Choose the products that sold every week for four weeks. Get SABER certificates for regulated items before you book freight.
- 5
Months 3–4: ship winners to FBN by sea
Send 6–8 weeks of stock by LCL. LCL takes 25–35 days port to port, plus customs and warehouse check-in.
- 6
Months 4–6: scale with Express and ads
Raise ad budgets on FBN products, join noon deals, and add the UAE warehouse if UAE orders are strong.
- 7
Months 6–12: hit the peaks and keep testing
Stock up for Yellow Friday, Ramadan and Saudi National Day. Keep 10–20 new ideas testing on NGS at all times.

For cost per unit
- Incl. CFS & docs (origin and destination CFS, docs, THC/D/O)
- Billed on 1 cbm = 1,000 kg, min 1 cbm
- Usually uneconomic above ~70 kg
Red Sea and Hormuz tensions pushed Gulf rates up sharply: a 40ft to Jeddah went from ~$3,250–3,650 (mid-2025) to $8,200–12,000 (Aug 2026), and Oct 2026 quotes still run $6,600–9,400. Quotes are valid for days, not months.
Freight only. Excludes customs duty (5% of CIF), 15% import VAT, SABER shipment certificate (SAR 350), origin/destination charges (except LCL CFS/docs) and inland delivery.
Indicative estimates based on forwarder quotes and market indices from Aug–Oct 2026; confirm with your forwarder.

Compliance: SABER and Arabic labels
Compliance is the step to do early, not at the port. The rules are clear, and most sellers sort them in a few weeks.
Labels matter just as much:
- Arabic on the pack. Product name, key instructions and warnings should be in Arabic, or Arabic plus English. A durable Arabic sticker is usually accepted.
- No Chinese-only packaging. Gulf shoppers and inspectors expect Arabic or English.
- Electrical details. Show voltage, plug type and ratings for Saudi 220–240 V use.
- Country of origin and importer details on the label.

Getting paid from noon
noon pays weekly. It issues a statement every Wednesday and pays on Thursday once your balance reaches AED/SAR 1,000. NGS sellers receive their USD transfer price after delivery.
| Payout provider | noon support |
|---|---|
| PingPong | Official noon payment partner since April 2026 |
| LianLian Global | AED since 2019, USD for noon Saudi and UAE added in 2026 |
| WorldFirst | AED or USD account, bound per store |
| Payoneer | Long-standing option; noon may ask for a letter of authorisation |
The riyal and dirham are pegged to the US dollar, so currency risk is small. What you should compare is the conversion spread to CNY and the withdrawal fee. Our payout provider comparison breaks them down.
Use noon's China team and summits
noon is one of the few Gulf marketplaces with a team on the ground in China. Use it.
In 2026 noon held its first official recruitment summits in Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, with its CEO and Saudi and UAE managers at the Shenzhen event. In September, its China business head spoke at the Global Digital Trade Expo in Hangzhou.
Three ways to get value from them:
- Ask for category guidance. The recruitment team knows which categories noon wants to grow.
- Ask about deals and launch support. Seasonal campaigns like Yellow Friday fill early, so ask how to join before the deadline.
- Watch the factory-direct pilot. From the second half of 2026, noon is exploring buying directly from industrial-belt factories.
Notes for factories
- Lead with your strongest product line. noon rewards quality and accurate listings more than the lowest price.
- Price for retail, not wholesale. Your transfer price or FBN price should leave room for ads and returns.
- Plan daily hub runs if you're outside Shenzhen, since NGS orders must reach the hub on time.
Notes for brands
- Use Brand Ads once you have 3+ winners. Sellers report around 40% higher click-through than product ads, for about 20% more per click.
- Invest in Arabic content. Native Arabic titles and descriptions help you show up on noon's Arabic site, where many Gulf shoppers search.
- Run noon and Amazon together. See noon vs Amazon and the Amazon guide for Chinese sellers.
Notes for Gulf agencies and partners
- Chinese sellers need local hands. Arabic listings, ads management, SABER importer services and FBN prep are all in demand.
- NGS needs a China-registered company, so Gulf companies can't use it. They sell on noon through a local account instead.
- For the full China-to-Gulf picture, start at the China sellers hub.
Frequently asked questions
Run both if you can, but start where your product fits. Amazon has bigger traffic and generous 2026 vouchers for Chinese sellers. noon has far fewer Chinese competitors, a direct-from-China model and lower ad prices, which makes it the easier place for a new listing to get noticed.
