Snapchat Ads in Saudi Arabia: A Step-by-Step Guide for Online Stores

Snapchat reaches about 73% of everyone in Saudi Arabia, so it's the first paid channel most Saudi stores should test. Connect the Snap Pixel and Conversions API, run a Sales campaign with short Saudi-dialect videos, and start with about SAR 200 a day.

Key takeaways
  • Snapchat ads reach 25.3 million people in Saudi Arabia, about 73% of the population (DataReportal 2026).
  • Set up tracking before you spend: the Snap Pixel plus the Conversions API, through your Salla, Zid or Shopify app.
  • Start with a Sales campaign, single video ads and broad targeting. Add Dynamic Product Ads for retargeting in week three.
  • Expect CPMs of SAR 6–18 in normal months and 60–90% more in Ramadan, so test your creative before the season.
  • Write and film in Saudi dialect. Formal Arabic reads like a news bulletin on Snapchat.

Want Saudi shoppers to see your products every day? Put them on Snapchat, the app most Saudis open many times a day.

They use it to watch friends and creators film their day, and your ad appears between those Stories, full-screen and sound-on.

The good news is that you can start with a small budget and a phone-shot video, and the setup takes an afternoon.

Below you'll set up tracking on Salla, Zid or Shopify, pick formats and audiences, write ads in Saudi dialect and plan a first month in riyals.

Why does Snapchat work so well for Saudi stores?

Snapchat is a daily habit in Saudi Arabia, not a side app, and its ad reach beats Instagram's by about 7 million people.

Here's why that matters for ecommerce:

  • It's where Saudi creators live. Saudi influencer culture grew up on Snapchat Stories, so shoppers trust product videos there.
  • It reaches the young. Snap says it reaches about 90% of Saudis aged 13–34.
  • Shoppers act fast. A swipe-up from a short video takes them straight to your product page, ready to buy.
  • You can start small. Snap accepts budgets from $5 a day, so testing costs little.

How do Snapchat ads work?

You build campaigns in Snap's Ads Manager at ads.snapchat.com. Each campaign has a goal, one or more ad sets (audience, budget, placement) and the ads themselves.

Snap offers five objectives: Awareness and Engagement, Traffic, Leads, App Promotion and Sales.

For an online store, pick Sales, and Snap will show your ad to people likely to buy, based on what your pixel records.

Set the ad account's currency and time zone carefully when you open it. Neither can be changed later, so pick riyals and Riyadh time if Saudi Arabia is your main market.

Which Snapchat ad formats should you use first?

Start with plain video ads, then add formats as your data grows. Each one does a different job:

FormatWhat it isWhen to add it
Single Image or VideoA full-screen ad between StoriesDay one, your main format
Dynamic Product AdsAds built from your product catalogWeek three, to retarget visitors
CollectionA video with 4 product tiles belowWhen you sell a range (sizes, shades)
Story adsA tile in the Discover feed that opens several SnapsFor launches and gift guides
CommercialsNon-skippable for the first 6 secondsFor awareness in big seasons
Sponsored SnapsAn ad delivered to the chat inboxFor offers and VIP launches
AR LensesA filter shoppers try on their own faceOnce your basic ads are profitable

Shoot every video vertical, at a 9:16 ratio and full HD resolution. Keep the brand name under 25 characters and the headline under 34.

How should you target Saudi shoppers?

Go broad and let your creative do the targeting, because Snap's system finds buyers faster when you don't box it in.

These are the targeting layers that matter:

  • Location. All of Saudi Arabia, specific cities, or a radius around a store.
  • Age, gender and language. Pick Arabic, English or both, depending on your store's languages.
  • Lifestyle Categories. These are Snap's interest groups, such as beauty fans or fashionistas.
  • Custom Audiences. Your pixel visitors, customer lists and people who engaged with your ads.
  • Lookalikes. New people who behave like your buyers.

For your first cold campaign, try two ad sets: one broad (all Saudi Arabia, 18–44) and one with a Lifestyle Category. Exclude anyone who bought in the last 30 days.

How do you set up the Snap Pixel on Salla, Zid and Shopify?

Tracking comes first, because without it Snap can't learn who buys and your Sales campaign runs blind.

You need two pieces. The Snap Pixel tracks shoppers in the browser, from product view to checkout. The Conversions API (CAPI) sends each order from your store's server, so sales still count when iPhone privacy settings block the pixel.

  1. 1

    Create your Snap Business account

Sign up at ads.snapchat.com, add your business details and a payment card. Foreign businesses can pay by international card.

  2. 2

    Salla: connect from Marketing tools

In your Salla dashboard, open the marketing tracking tools and connect Snapchat with your Snap account. That links the pixel and server events to your ad account.

  3. 3

Zid: install the Snapchat Ads app

Install Snap's app from the Zid App Market and log in with your Snap account. Check that your store profile is public, or the connection can fail.

  4. 4

Shopify: install the official Snapchat Ads app

Connect your Snap account, pick your pixel and turn on server-side (Conversions API) sharing in the app settings. The app then sends each order alongside the pixel.

  5. 5

    Check your events

In Snap's Events Manager, confirm page view, add to cart, start checkout and purchase all arrive. Pixel and server events must carry the same pixel ID and a matching event ID, so Snap counts each order once.

  6. 6

    Place a test order

Open your ad link inside Snapchat and buy something cheap. If the purchase shows in Events Manager within an hour, you're ready to spend.

How do you write Snapchat ads in Saudi dialect?

Saudi viewers skip anything that feels like a translated Western ad. Write like a friend talking, in Saudi dialect, and show the product in the first second.

Here's how dialect changes the same line:

Formal ArabicSaudi dialectMeaning
اطلبي الآناطلبيها الحينOrder it now
عرض لفترة محدودةالعرض لين الخميس بسOffer ends Thursday
منتج رائع جداًشي يجننIt's amazing
ماذا تنتظرين؟وش تنتظرين؟What are you waiting for?

Keep ads to 5–10 seconds, with the price and the offer on screen. Add Arabic captions too, since many people watch on mute in public.

How much do Snapchat ads cost in Saudi Arabia?

You set the budget, and Snap runs an auction for every view. Agency 23HubLab reports Saudi CPMs of SAR 6–18, where a CPM is the price of 1,000 ad views.

Clicks typically cost SAR 0.80–4.50 each. Snap's minimum is $5 a day, but it recommends $20–50 so that each ad set has enough data to learn.

Costs jump in the big seasons. Ramadan pushes Snapchat CPMs 60–90% above normal, and Saudi National Day adds 40–60%. Plan launches with our Ramadan marketing guide.

Worked example: a SAR 6,000 first month

Picture a Riyadh fragrance store on Salla with an average order of SAR 280. After product, delivery and fees, it keeps SAR 140 per order, so it can pay up to that much in ads per order and still break even.

It plans a 30-day test in two phases:

PhaseDaily budgetDaysSpendPurpose
Days 1–14SAR 200 (2 ad sets × SAR 100)14SAR 2,800Test 3 videos per ad set
Days 15–30SAR 160 winner + SAR 40 retargeting16SAR 3,200Scale the winner, add Dynamic Product Ads

At the midpoint CPM of SAR 12 and a click cost of SAR 2, about 6 in every 1,000 viewers click. Here's month one:

CPM and CPC: 23HubLab Saudi benchmarks (2026). Ramadan applies the midpoint of 23HubLab's +60–90% lift with the same 0.6% click-through rate, so a click costs SAR 3.50, still inside the SAR 0.80–4.50 range. Conversion rate: the low end of 23HubLab's 1.5–4.5% for fashion and beauty.

At SAR 133 per order, the store just beats its break-even in month one. Retargeting and repeat buyers usually improve that number in month two.

Run the same untested plan in Ramadan and each order costs SAR 233. That's why you test in January and scale proven ads when the season starts.

Notes for Salla and Zid merchants

  • Both platforms connect Snapchat in a few clicks, so you rarely need a developer.
  • Salla also lets you launch simple Snapchat campaigns from its own ads page. Move to Ads Manager once you test several videos.
  • Zid's Snapchat app sends store events to Snap. Confirm the purchase event in Events Manager after installing.
  • Compare costs on each platform in Salla vs Zid.

Notes for foreign brands

  • You don't need a Saudi company to advertise, because Snap accepts international cards.
  • Price in riyals, show mada and Apple Pay, and state delivery times in Arabic.
  • Hire a Saudi copywriter for dialect. Gulf-wide or Egyptian Arabic sounds off to Saudi viewers.

Notes for UAE and wider GCC sellers

  • Snapchat reaches about 45% of people in the UAE and 48% in Kuwait (DataReportal). It works as a second channel there, behind Meta and TikTok in the UAE and Instagram in Kuwait.
  • Bahrain is worth a small Snapchat test with the same Saudi playbook.
  • Build one campaign per country, each with prices in local currency. More channels are in our paid ads guide.

Frequently asked questions

Use Sales, optimised for purchases, once your pixel is recording orders. If you have fewer than a handful of orders a week, optimise for add-to-cart first, then switch to purchases when volume grows. Avoid Traffic for ecommerce: it buys cheap clicks from people who rarely buy.
