- Most Gulf stores use two or three couriers: one main partner, a backup, and a specialist for remote areas or same-day.
- Saudi parcels cost about SAR 14–22 between big cities through an aggregator. UAE next-day starts at about AED 17, and same-day in Dubai at AED 35–60.
- Judge couriers on cost per delivered order, including COD fees and returns, not on the headline rate.
- Since January 2026, every Saudi parcel needs a National Address. Make the Short Address a required checkout field.
- Start through an aggregator or your store platform, run a 30-day split test, then negotiate direct rates at volume.
The courier is the one part of your business every customer meets in person. Get it right, and a first order turns into a repeat buyer.
Shoppers in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai now treat next-day delivery as normal. You can offer that without owning a single van, because dozens of couriers compete for online stores.
There's plenty of work to go round. Saudi orders through delivery apps jumped 60% in a year.
Below you'll find the main courier types, 2026 prices, independently researched couriers in each country and a simple way to pick your mix. It's part of our directory of GCC service providers.
When do you need a last-mile delivery partner?
You need one from your first order. A last-mile courier picks up parcels from your shop or warehouse, delivers them to the shopper and collects cash on delivery (COD) where needed.
It's the leg your customer actually sees. A late or rude delivery gets blamed on your brand, not the courier.
You'll compare couriers seriously when:
- You're launching a store. Your platform's built-in couriers work fine for the first orders.
- You ship more than a few orders a day. Rates, payout speed and first-attempt delivery start to matter.
- You offer COD. The courier holds your cash until it pays out, so payout terms become part of your cash flow.
- You promise same-day or next-day. Only some couriers can deliver on that promise in each city.
Holding stock with a 3PL (third-party logistics warehouse)? It usually books couriers on its own contracts. Compare options in our 3PL and fulfilment directory.
Which type of delivery company fits your store?
Gulf stores choose from five types of delivery company. Each one is strong at a different job.
| Best for | Examples | How you book | |
|---|---|---|---|
| National posts | Remote towns, lockers, light and cheap parcels | SPL (Saudi Post), Emirates Post | Direct account or aggregator |
| Regional express couriers | GCC-wide delivery, COD and cross-border lanes | Aramex, SMSA, Naqel | Account rate or aggregator |
| Ecommerce last-mile specialists | Fast city delivery, same-day and flexible COD | Jeebly, Quiqup, AyMakan, Shipa | Online sign-up or plugin |
| China-linked networks | Cross-border sellers, Chinese-language support | iMile, J&T Express | Account manager or aggregator |
| Aggregators | Many couriers through one dashboard and one COD balance | OTO, Torod, Salla and Zid shipping | Install an app |
Here's a simple rule of thumb:
- New Saudi store? Start with your platform's shipping or an aggregator, and test two couriers.
- New UAE store? Pick one local last-mile specialist and one network courier such as Aramex.
- Selling from China? Test a China-linked network, plus a local courier for returns.
How much does last-mile delivery cost in 2026?
A domestic parcel usually costs under SAR 25 in Saudi Arabia and AED 17–30 next-day in the UAE. COD, returns and remote areas add to that.
| Service (parcel under 5 kg) | Typical price | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi domestic, Riyadh to Jeddah, via aggregator | SAR 14 (SPL) to SAR 22 (SMSA) | AidleTech, Oct 2026 |
| Saudi delivery to a parcel locker | From about SAR 10 | OTO, 2025 |
| Saudi COD fee per parcel | SAR 3–14, by courier | OTO, 2025 |
| UAE next-day, all emirates | AED 17–30 | Jeebly, Apr 2026 |
| UAE same-day, Dubai | AED 35–60 | SamVertex, May 2026 |
| UAE COD fee per parcel | AED 5–15 | SamVertex, May 2026 |
| Dubai to Riyadh, cross-border parcel | SAR 55–98 + SAR 15 customs fee | OTO, 2025; ZATCA |
Couriers charge on the higher of actual or volumetric weight. Remote areas, extra attempts and returns carry surcharges.
Why the headline rate isn't the real cost
When a COD shopper refuses a parcel, you pay to send it and again to bring it back. That's RTO (return to origin).
So compare couriers on cost per delivered order: shipping, COD fees and return fees, divided by orders that actually arrived. A courier that's SAR 2 cheaper but delivers fewer parcels first time can cost you more.

Saudi Arabia is big and spread out. Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam get next-day or same-day delivery, while smaller cities usually take 2–5 days.
No courier holds more than about 15% of Saudi ecommerce logistics revenue (Mordor Intelligence). That's why most stores use two or three.
These couriers were independently researched and are listed in no particular order.

Last-mile delivery companies in the UAE
The UAE is compact, which makes fast delivery cheap. Next-day covers all seven emirates, and same-day in Dubai usually needs an order by about 11 am.
Many UAE addresses are landmark-based. Couriers that call or WhatsApp shoppers and use map pins deliver first time more often.

How do you choose a delivery partner in 6 steps?
Start with where your orders go, not with a courier's brand. Once you know your cities and your speed promise, the shortlist gets short quickly.
- 1
Map where your orders go
Split last month's orders by city or emirate. Most Saudi orders land in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province, so cover those first and treat smaller towns as a separate job.
- 2
Give each courier one job
Pick a main courier for your big cities, a backup that is already live, and a specialist for remote towns or same-day if you need one.
- 3
Match speed to where stock sits
Same-day only works from stock in that city. Promise next-day where you have a local warehouse and a longer window everywhere else.
- 4
Place real test orders
Send a few orders to a Saudi Short Address and a UAE map pin. Check the label, the Arabic tracking messages and the COD amount on each.
- 5
Compare a month of results
Run similar orders through each courier for 30 days. Compare late deliveries, failed first attempts and complaints city by city.
- 6
Go direct at volume
At about 1,000 parcels a month, ask your best courier for a direct contract. Keep your aggregator or platform shipping switched on as a backup.
What should you ask before you sign?
Ask these questions to every courier on your shortlist. Clear, written answers make the comparison easy.
Saudi Arabia or the UAE: what's different?
Delivery works differently in the two biggest Gulf markets. Set up each country on its own terms.
Since 1 January 2026, couriers must not accept parcels without a valid National Address. The Short Address has 8 characters, four letters and four digits, and points to one building.
- Make the Short Address a required checkout field and pass it to your courier on every order.
- COD is still common, so payout speed matters. Aggregators pay out from twice a week to twice a month.
- Most stores book couriers through Salla or Zid shipping, OTO or Torod.
See our National Address guide and the Saudi courier list.
Serving Saudi shoppers from Dubai stock? Parcels take about 2–5 days and pay Saudi VAT plus a SAR 15 customs fee. Our guide to shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia covers the route.
Notes for COD-heavy stores
When most orders are paid in cash, the COD fee, payout day and return charge matter as much as the delivery rate. Compare COD couriers side by side in our COD logistics directory.
The cheapest fix is upstream. Confirm each COD order on WhatsApp before it ships, then follow our guide to reducing COD returns.
Notes for Chinese and foreign sellers
- Getting stock in is a separate job. Last-mile couriers deliver inside the country. A freight forwarder or parcel line brings goods in.
- China-linked couriers help. iMile and J&T Express offer cross-border lanes and Chinese-language support.
- Plan returns locally. Send returns to a Gulf 3PL, not back to China.

Frequently asked questions
It's the final leg of an order's journey, from your warehouse or shop to the shopper's door. It's usually the most expensive and visible part of shipping, because a driver handles each parcel one by one and often collects cash too.
