- Amazon.ae is the UAE's #1 online store by sales, and its shoppers spend about USD 1,590 a year online.
- UAE businesses register with a mainland, free-zone or eTrader licence. Foreign brands use Amazon Global Selling and don't always need a UAE company.
- Selling costs a referral fee of 4.5–15% on most products, plus about AED 10.50 per FBA order for a small parcel. The monthly plan fee is waived for now, and there's no closing fee.
- New sellers get up to AED 3,700 in ad credit, a 5% brand bonus and FBA storage breaks. Dubai licence holders can add the DET x Amazon Accelerator.
- Your Amazon.ae listings can reach shoppers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman through Global Export, with no extra setup.
Amazon.ae is the UAE's biggest online store, and in 2026 it's handing new sellers ad credit and fee breaks to join.
UAE shoppers are some of the richest online buyers anywhere. Nearly everyone is online, and Prime delivers in a day.
You can sell to them from a Dubai free zone or from a factory in Shenzhen. UAE businesses sign up with a trade licence, and foreign brands use Amazon Global Selling.
Below: the licence you need, UAE tax, real AED fees, FBA, incentives and how one listing reaches the whole GCC. New to Amazon altogether? Start with our beginner's guide to selling on Amazon Middle East.
Why sell on Amazon.ae?
Amazon.ae gives you a small, wealthy, fully online market with the delivery network already built. Here's what makes it a strong first Gulf store:
- Shoppers spend more. The average UAE online shopper outspends a Saudi one by about a fifth.
- English works. Most residents are expats, so your English listings sell from day one.
- Prime is one day. FBA listings get free one-day Prime delivery across the Emirates.
- Less competition. Fewer sellers and advertisers per keyword mean new listings reach page one faster.
- One store, six countries. Amazon.ae ships to shoppers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
- Dubai is a hub. Licences take days, customs are fast, and the UAE is the easiest base for the rest of the Gulf.
The calendar helps too. Ramadan, Prime Day in June, 11.11, White Friday and UAE National Day with the Dubai Shopping Festival all bring big spikes.

Who can sell on Amazon UAE, and which licence do you need?
Any legitimate business can sell on Amazon.ae. Your route depends on where you trade from.
If you operate inside the UAE, Amazon asks for a valid trade licence, either mainland or free zone. If your business is abroad, you register through Amazon Global Selling instead.
| Route | Who it suits | Cost | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free zone e-commerce licence (e.g. RAKEZ) | Most new sellers, including foreigners | From AED 6,000 a year with 1 visa | Days |
| Free zone digital trade licence (e.g. Meydan) | Fast Dubai setup | From AED 12,500 a year | 24 hours |
| Mainland licence (DET or another emirate) | Shops, warehouses, onshore trade | AED 20,000–40,000 in year 1, office included | Weeks |
| Dubai eTrader licence | Home-based UAE and GCC nationals, some resident expats | AED 1,370 a year | Online |
| Amazon Global Selling | Companies based outside the UAE | No UAE licence needed | Register any time |
For most sellers, a free-zone licence is the easy pick. It's 100% foreign-owned, cheap and quick, and it covers selling online to shoppers across the Emirates.
Make sure the licence lists an e-commerce activity plus the goods you sell. Compare the options in UAE free zone vs mainland or the full UAE ecommerce licence guide.
How do you register on Amazon.ae?
Registration takes one sitting once your licence is issued.
- 1
Pick your route
UAE company: go to sellercentral.amazon.ae. Already on Amazon elsewhere: add the UAE from the Sell Globally dashboard. Chinese company: register through Amazon Global Selling China.
- 2
Scan your documents
Trade licence, the owner's Emirates ID or passport, a power of attorney if you're a legal representative, a recent bank or card statement, and your TRN certificate if you're VAT-registered.
- 3
Create the seller account
Choose the Professional plan. Its monthly fee is waived for now, and you need it to run ads.
- 4
Pass identity verification
Upload the documents and keep your phone close. Names and addresses must match exactly on every document.
- 5
Add bank and tax details
Payouts go to a bank account by transfer. Amazon can't pay to a credit card or PayPal.
- 6
Check category approvals
Some categories are gated. Regulated goods need ECAS or EQM conformity marks, and cosmetics need municipality approval.
- 7
Dubai licence? Join the Accelerator
Dubai licence holders can apply for the DET x Amazon Accelerator straight from Seller Central.
The rest of the launch (listings, reviews, payouts) follows the same path as every Amazon Gulf store. Our eight-step Amazon Middle East guide walks through it.
What do UAE VAT and corporate tax mean for Amazon sellers?
UAE tax is light, and it's simple once you know two numbers. VAT is 5%, and corporate tax is 0% on the first AED 375,000 of profit, then 9%.
Here's how it applies to you:
- VAT for UAE companies. You must register once taxable sales and imports pass AED 375,000 a year. You can register voluntarily from AED 187,500 to reclaim VAT on stock and ads.
- VAT for foreign sellers. There's no threshold for non-residents. If you sell stock held in the UAE, plan to register from your first sale.
- Corporate tax. Every licensed company must register with the FTA, even if it owes nothing.
- Small Business Relief. Companies with revenue up to AED 3 million can elect to pay no corporate tax for periods ending by 31 December 2029.
Registration is free on EmaraTax, the FTA's portal, with a UAE Pass login.
Details are in our guides to UAE VAT and UAE corporate tax.
How do you list your products for UAE shoppers?
Lead with excellent English, then add real Arabic. The UAE is the one Gulf market where English-first works.
Most residents are expats who shop in English. Emiratis mostly choose Arabic, though, and Arab expats split about evenly. A strong Arabic version wins you those extra searches.
Every Amazon.ae product page has both versions. Fill in both yourself:
- Title. Brand, product type, key feature and variant, in the words shoppers actually type.
- Bullets. Five short benefit lines. Mention what matters here, like UAE plug type or summer-heat performance.
- Images. A clean main image on white, plus lifestyle shots in a Gulf apartment or villa.
- Arabic copy. Clear Modern Standard Arabic, not a machine translation.

Not sure how much Arabic you need? Our guide to Arabic vs English in the UAE breaks it down by audience.
FBA, Easy Ship or Self Ship in the UAE?
For most new sellers, FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) is the best start. You send stock to Amazon's UAE warehouses, and Amazon stores, packs, delivers in a day and handles returns.
Easy Ship means you keep the stock and Amazon's couriers collect each order. Self Ship means you use your own courier.
| FBA | Easy Ship | Self Ship | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who stores the stock | Amazon | You | You |
| Who delivers | Amazon | Amazon's couriers | Your courier |
| Fee for a 1 kg parcel | AED 10.50 per order | AED 15 per order | No Amazon fee |
| Storage fee | AED 2 per cubic foot a month | None | None |
| Prime one-day badge | |||
| Charge the buyer for shipping | No (free Prime delivery) | Up to AED 10 | Your choice |
| Best for | Most products, fast first sales | Bulky or slow sellers, testing | Sellers with their own UAE courier deal |
FBA is cheaper per order than Easy Ship for a small parcel, and it adds the Prime badge. Stock is usually sellable 48–72 hours after Amazon receives it.
Book stock in through Send to Amazon and a Carrier Central appointment. Prep, labels and inbound rules are in our Amazon FBA UAE guide.
How much does it cost to sell on Amazon.ae?
For a typical product, Amazon keeps about a quarter of the price. That covers its commission and delivery.
You pay up to four fees:
- Referral fee. A cut of each sale, set by category. Most products pay 4.5–15%, with a minimum of AED 1.
- Fulfilment fee. Per order, if you use FBA or Easy Ship.
- Storage. A monthly charge for FBA stock.
- Plan fee. The Professional plan's monthly fee is waived for now.
There's no closing fee on Amazon.ae. Amazon adds 5% VAT to its fees, which you reclaim if you're VAT-registered.
Worked example: an AED 120 kitchen organiser
Say you sell a kitchen organiser for AED 120, VAT included. It weighs 0.9 kg and ships as a standard parcel.
| Fee line (ex-VAT) | FBA | Easy Ship | FBA with New-to-Prime 5% fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Referral fee (home and kitchen, 15%) | AED 18.00 | AED 18.00 | AED 6.00 |
| Fulfilment fee (standard parcel up to 1 kg) | AED 10.50 | AED 15.00 | AED 10.50 |
| Storage per unit per month (~0.3 cu ft) | ~AED 0.60 | – | ~AED 0.60 |
| Total Amazon fees | ~AED 29.10 (24%) | AED 33.00 (28%) | ~AED 17.10 (14%) |
FBA saves you about AED 4 per order here. The New-to-Prime offer cuts the referral fee to 5% for your first 100 FBA units.
Only AED 5.71 of the shelf price is VAT, far less than in Saudi Arabia. With FBA, you keep about AED 85 per sale before your product and shipping costs.
Try your own product. Change the price, category and size, then compare FBA with Easy Ship.

What incentives can new UAE sellers get in 2026?
Amazon.ae has a strong launch package this year, and most of it rewards listing fast and using FBA.
| Incentive | What you get | Who qualifies |
|---|---|---|
| Sponsored Products credit | Up to AED 3,700 in ad credit | New sellers |
| Brand incentive | Up to 5% back on your first AED 3.5M of branded sales, capped at AED 175,000 | Enrol in Brand Registry within 6 months |
| New-to-Prime discount | 5% referral fee on the first 100 units of new FBA products, for 120 days | New FBA parent ASINs |
| FBA New Selection | Free storage for the first 30 units, for up to 90 days | Enrol before your first inbound |
| DET x Amazon Accelerator | AED 2,000 in ad credit and 6 months of free professional support | Dubai trade licence holders |
Amazon.sa's 30% referral discount is only for Saudi-based sellers, so it doesn't apply here. In the UAE, the ad credit and the brand bonus are the big wins.
Full terms are in our guide to Amazon new-seller incentives.
How do ads, reviews and payouts work on Amazon.ae?
Start Sponsored Products the day your stock goes live. Amazon suggests about AED 40 a day per campaign, and your launch credit pays for the first clicks.
Sellers report clicks of about AED 1–4, depending on the category. One mature UAE home account averaged AED 3.57 a click.
Expect a high ACoS (ad cost as a share of ad sales) at first. Dubai agencies report this pattern:
Sponsored Brands needs Brand Registry and, on Amazon.ae, at least three products. Campaign structures are in Amazon Ads for GCC sellers.
Reviews work a little differently here. Amazon Vine isn't open to UAE sellers, so use the Request a Review button on every order and reply to buyers within a day.
Payouts are simple. Amazon settles every 14 days, and the money lands in your bank within about five business days.
Need cash sooner? Amazon.ae offers Disburse on Demand, which lets you request a payout once every 24 hours.
How do you sell to the rest of the GCC from Amazon.ae?
You may already be doing it. Amazon.ae ships to shoppers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman through Amazon Global Export.
Middle East FBA sellers are enrolled in FBA Export automatically, at no extra fee. Eligible products simply show up for GCC buyers, and the buyer pays delivery and import fees at checkout.
| Destination | Buyer pays (delivery) | Delivery time |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | AED 29.99 per order + AED 13.99 per kg | 2–4 business days (metro areas) |
| Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman | AED 16.86 per order + AED 32.31 per kg | 2–4 business days |
| Qatar | Shown at checkout | Varies |
Export is a free way to test demand. When GCC orders grow, open a linked Amazon.sa account and stock locally for Prime delivery. Our Amazon Saudi Arabia seller guide covers that step.
Your Amazon.ae launch checklist
Tick these off as you go:
Notes for UAE-based sellers
You have the smoothest route of anyone. Here's how to make the most of it:
- Choose a licence that fits. A free-zone e-commerce licence suits most Amazon sellers. Our UAE ecommerce licence cost guide compares year-one budgets.
- Mind the free-zone tax rule. Sales to mainland shoppers usually don't qualify for the free-zone tax break, so budget for the standard 9% rate.
- Plan your peaks. UAE National Day and the Dubai Shopping Festival run back to back in December. See our UAE National Day and DSF guide.
Notes for foreign brands (Amazon Global Selling)
Amazon says businesses outside the Middle East may not need a local company. Your stock still has to clear UAE customs, so plan for these points:
- Add the UAE to your account. From Seller Central, use the Sell Globally dashboard. Amazon.ae appears as a linked account under one login.
- Arrange an importer of record. Amazon won't act as importer of record (IOR) for FBA stock. Use your own UAE entity or a forwarder's IOR service.
- Ship DDP. Delivered Duty Paid means the usual 5% duty and 5% import VAT are paid before stock reaches the warehouse.
- Check conformity marks. Regulated products need ECAS or EQM certificates. Start with our UAE ECAS guide.
- Try Remote Fulfilment. Amazon offers a route from the UK to the UAE before you commit stock locally.
Notes for Chinese sellers
Amazon is recruiting Chinese sellers hard for its Gulf stores, and the UAE is usually the first stop.
- Register through Amazon Global Selling China with your Chinese business documents. No UAE company is needed.
- Claim the 2026 pack. You get a USD 50,000 prepaid referral voucher and a USD 1,000 ad coupon.
- Get FBA inbound cashback. Until 30 December, it's worth up to AED 3,672 per ASIN on Amazon.ae.
- Use Amazon SEND to ship from China to the UAE, with customs handled at both ends. Dangerous goods are excluded.
Routes, costs and transit times are in our China to UAE shipping guide and Amazon Middle East for Chinese sellers.
Notes for Saudi-based sellers
Already on Amazon.sa? The UAE is a quick second store with richer shoppers per head.
- Link the accounts. Add Amazon.ae from Sell Globally under the same login.
- Sort the UAE side. You'll need a UAE entity or a forwarder as importer of record for FBA stock, plus UAE VAT registration.
- Lead with English. UAE shoppers lean English, so rewrite your Arabic-first titles for the Emirates.
